Ah! Fall. My favorite time of year for so many reasons. My list can go on for days, but at the very top is the fashion (obviously). No other season can compete in terms of colors, textures and simply, the ability to still look cute, without sweating or freezing your ass off. This year, I’m sticking to many of my closet staples, but simultaneously, I’ve been having fun with some newer closet additions. Below are a few items that will be in heavy rotation.
Plaid Blazer: Anine Bing
I’ve gone a little crazy with plaid blazers and not because they’re a new trend, but simply because there are so many good ones right now. If you don’t want to spend a ton, Zara and Mango have such good options. On the higher end scale, I sprung for this one and I also cannot get this ALC one out of my head (ugh! the buttons). Including some more favorites below!
A PLAID BLAZER:
Camel Coat: Mackage (old, similar here)
Camel Coat: Maje
I often get asked the question: “what are your closet essentials?” and if I had to pick a top ten, a camel coat would be on top of the list. You could be wearing a black dress with heels or denim with sneakers and few things will tie your look together like a camel coat. I have one that is short and a few that are long, but time and time again, they’re a key component to my closet.
A CAMEL COAT:
Black Suede Pumps: Saint Laurent
A BLACK SUEDE PUMP:
It doesn’t get more timeless than a classic black pump. Personally, I prefer black suede over black leather. There’s something about the material, whether designer or not, that gives it a more luxe look. I ended up investing in a pair of Saint Laurents that I was eyeing for months and I have zero regrets. They’re comfortable (for a high heel) and made very well! Cost per wear, they’ve paid for themselves. However, there are so many great options that don’t break the bank. For example, I love this pair from Sam Edelman. I have the same style in olive and I love them.
Oversized Sweater: Zara | Denim: AGolde | Mules: Zara
Coat: Carven (old, similar here & here) | Knit: H&M (similar here)
I know, I know. I’m including pink in my fall lineup, but here’s the thing: while I’m normally a neutrals girl, I do like to infuse a bit of color every once in awhile. While I typically gravitate towards red, lately, I’ve been into various shades of pink. When these temptations happen, I usually stick to sites like Zara and H&M so when I’m over it, I don’t feel too bad.
A POP OF PINK KNITWEAR:
Teddy Bear Sweater: Vince | Bag: Future Glory Co.
Teddy Bear Coat: Zara (old, similar here)
A TEDDY BEAR SWEATER & COAT
What I love almost as much as luxe fall colors are luxe fall textures. For me, a good ol’ teddy bear piece screams “I am cozy!” This Vince sweater is newer and an item that I’ve been eyeing for awhile. I finally bit the bullet on it after getting a gift card!
Brown Suede Booties: Ash | Denim: J.Crew
Admittedly, I have a great collection of black boots (if I do say so myself) but when it came to brown, I was majorly lacking. I think that I’ve been on the hunt for a pair that I loved for more than a year! They were either too high, too low, sold out or too washed out. This year, I started looking rather early and came across these from Shopbop. They’re comfortable (not as comfortable as some of my lower-heeled booties, but comfortable enough). Considering my wardrobe palette, I know I’ll be living in these.
A BROWN SUEDE BOOTIE:

I can pretty much echo what I wrote for the camel coat. A black leather jacket is in my top three of can’t-live without-pieces. I mean, I paired a black leather with a Carolina Herrera dress. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is. My favorite is this one from Mackage (I wear an XS – it runs large), but I’m also a huge fan of the All Saints Balfern and the price is slightly lower. Also, sharing some other options below.
