For today’s installment of ‘My Perfect Day in NYC,’ I’m so excited to share one of my favorite health & wellness blog reads! Neda is the writer behind Healthy with Nedi, where she shares her approach to holistic nutrition & endless recipes I’m inspired to try.
Neda Varbanova’s Perfect Day In NYC
I always start my day with a workout to get me going and working out increases seratonin (the hormones that make you feel good & happy)! I’ll head to Rumble Boxing or Bodyrok. I love both of these classes and they are full of energy. On my walk home, I’ll stop by Cha Cha Matcha for an iced almond matcha cappuccino. So delish!
From there I’ll head home for a lymphatic massage, which I’ve become addicted to. I found someone incredible who comes to the house for an hour and helps me look & feel slimmer in an instant. This type of massage flushes toxins out of the body, improves cellulitis, regenerates the tissues, relaxes the muscles, improves the skin appearance, and overall tones the body. You can read more about it here.
After the massage, I’ll get ready for lunch with a few girlfriends at Cipriani Downtown. It’s one of my favorite restaurants in the city. I’ve been going there since I was 16 and some of the staff is like family. Since this is my perfect day, I would order a bottle of white wine, tuna tartare, braised artichokes, cucumber salad and two pastas off the menu! My favorite pasta dishes there are the baked tagliolioni with ham and the veal raggu tagliardi – both are to die for!
After lunch, I’ll stroll around the streets of SoHo and pop into INTERMIX and Chanel to browse. Then I’ll head to my hair salon, Marie Robinson, for a blow dry with Annie. After the blow out, I’ll go home to get changed for a super cool experience I’ve done twice before & would love to do again on this perfect day.
It’s called FlyNyon! You are basically strapped in a helicopter that has open doors and fly above the NYC for 30 minutes. The sunset flight is mesmerizing. I know this is a bit adventurous but I highly recommend it if you aren’t afraid of heights.
From there, I’ll drive back into the city and change super quickly for the night. A stop on the way to dinner would be a pre-dinner cocktail at the Baccarat Hotel. It’s one of my favorite places for cocktails. The bar is stunning and they make the perfect Nedi Martini.
From Baccarat, I’ll head over to Marea for dinner. I love this restaurant so much! The food is always impeccable. My go-to order off the dinner menu is Kumamoto oysters, caviar and a selection of crudos paired with a glass of chassagne montrachet to start. Mid-course is their homemade gluten-free pasta with jumbo lump crab and uni. For an entree, I like the branzino with broccolini.
After this delicious dinner, I’d head home to relax and enjoy some homemade dessert by moi. I’ll find a good movie to watch, brew a cup of linded tea and eat a slice of my decadent flourless chocolate cake!
In the event you missed the other NYC series, including some of my favorite places, you could find that all here.
