Over the past few months, I’ve tried a few new things that really impressed me: a lash serum that has made my lashes lot longer; another serum that’s added some fullness to my naturally skimpy brows; a mascara that gives me long lashes without any flakes; and a few other things worth writing about. Lets jump right into them.
Revitalash & Neulash: With both pregnancies, my lashes got incredibly sad. The odd thing was that with Sasha, my hair became thicker than it has ever been, but my lashes were another story. After giving birth, I tried several lash serums but the two that really impressed me were Revitalash and Neulash. Neither irritated my eyes and over the course of two months, both dramatically improved the length and look of my lashes. When I crowdsourced on instastories, I got hundreds of recommendations but Revitalash and Neulash were the two that were recommended the most.
Thrive Tubing Mascara: Unlike conventional mascaras which paint lashes with pigment, tubing mascaras create water-resistant, tube-like enclosures around each individual lash. Instead of flaking or smudging throughout the day, these “tubes” slide off with warm water and some gentle pressure. Because of my slightly hooded eye shape, 98% of mascaras would smudge on me. I tried every single popular brand under the sun with none of them working. I realized that what my eyes needed was a tubing mascara. Yes, I know I’m very late to the game!! For those that are unfamiliar, tubing mascara is different than traditional mascaras which paint lashes. Tubing mascaras create little “tubes” that coat each individual lashes that don’t flake or smudge and slide off with warm water. The best part is that after discovering tubing mascara, I’m finally able to wear mascara on my bottom lashes for that pretty, Bambi-eyed look.
I tried a few tubing mascara brands but the one that impressed me the most was the one from Thrive. It’s probably the best mascara I’ve tried in years! No smudging and it makes my lashes look so long. I know it doesn’t work for every eye shape and unfortunately it may not hold a curl as well as other mascaras, but I’ll take that over raccoon eyes any day.
Sephora Waterproof Liner: Again, I’ve tried every eyeliner under the sun and this one from Sephora has been one of the best for using on the waterline. The color stays put and it does not smudge! My favorite colors are the shimmering olive and dark chocolate with bronze shimmer, as I find black a bit too harsh for my complexion.
Neubrow: When I placed my order for the lash serums, I ended up adding the Neubrow to my cart after reading a lot of great reviews. It’s been about 6 weeks and I definitely notice new brow growth. It’s not dramatic, but it’s something. Also when I shared this to intastories, I had many people message me that Neubrow has done wonders for them, but it took several months. If you decide to try, I suggest doing what I forgot to do – take a before photo so you’re able to document the growth!
Saie Glowy Super Gel: I’ve been quite impressed with the entire Saie range, but my favorite product has to be their glowy super gel. It’s sheer, yet gives the most beautiful glow. It can be worn alone, under makeup or as a primer, but I prefer it on top of moisturizer, especially when the skin is still soaking it in.
Farmacy Honey Potion Mask: I’m late to this mask but man, I’m so glad I discovered it. It’s simple but does such a nice job at adding a nice dose of hydration and softness to the skin. On the nights that I use active ingredients that are a bit stronger (retinols or acids), I’ll break it up by using this mask while I hang around my house. It also has the nicest warming effect when applied to the skin.
Glossier Cloud Paint Cheek Color in Puff: I’m typically a powder blush girl but I was finding that after a couple of hours, all of the blush would be wiped away. Enter a cream blush that stays put all day. I mix this with a little bit of my Kevyn Aucoin Glass Glow (I use “clear”) and “cocktail” them together. The result is a a little tint and a little glowiness all wrapped into one. FYI: I do use this on days I use the above Saie Super Gel! The key for me is to use a little bit of each product. When it comes to makeup, less is more!
