Life Lately | August 2020

I did a post like this last month and being that it’s one I really enjoyed putting together, I figured I’d make it a monthly thing.

I’m still in a bit of shock that September is right around the corner. I know that summer always flies by, but this summer and all of its weirdness feels like it’s been the quickest one ever. In general, the last five months feel like such a blur. Somehow, they’ve simultaneously been the quickest and slowest.

Here are a few things that I’ve been watching, cooking, excited to read and so forth….

Life Lately | August 2020

Watching:

Lately with everything going on in my life and the world around us, I’ve been craving TV shows that are a bit of an escape. I recently finished Sweet Magnolia’s and it was cheesy and cute and just felt like a warm cup of hot chocolate. Now, I’m watching Virgin River and am so into it, even more than Sweet Magnolia’s. The setting is absolutely beautiful and I’m really loving the main actors and their chemistry. Both shows are on Netflix.

Reading:

I was just reminded that Colleen Hoover’s new book came out yesterday and it’s free if you have Kindle Unlimited! For those who may not know, I love me some Colleen Hoover and have enjoyed almost every single one of her books, except 1-2. Some of her past books have definitely been very YA, but no shame in that.

Cooking:

I saw Kathleen Barnes post this recipe and I immediately went out to buy the ingredients for dinner. I made it last night and it was so good. Warm, creamy feta with veggies?! Yes, please.

Inspired By:

I’ve been so inspired and into ceramics lately. Slowly, I’ve been adding pieces into my kitchen and they make me so happy. Most recently, I got two of these mugs from Earl Home after seeing it on Sam from Could I Have That stories. I love them so much and it feels good to support a small business.

Buying:

I’m not a Nordstrom card holder, so I had to wait until yesterday for the sale to open to the public. I got this trench after eyeing it for a bit. In my opinion, it looks so much more expensive than its price tag. I also go a replenishment of Neulash since it’s basically buy one, get one free. I’ve been using it and I find that it really works without any irritation.

Also, I’m not buying these boots, but if you’re looking for a suede brown bootie, these are great. They remind me so much of the Christian Louboutin pair that I’m wearing above.
