Weekend Notes | LDW & A Few Noteworthy Sales

This past week was one of the better weeks I’ve had in a long time. I’ve been feeling motivated and inspired to start again and way more often, one thing I’ve realized I cannot force.

I have to be in a certain mood and mindset to push out content that I’m happy with. For example, my letter and thoughts about New York. They’re feelings that I’ve been having for a long time and finally being able to get them out, despite taking two days (with stopping and starting), is something that felt really good.

We have a pretty relaxed weekend planned before heading to Lake George next week. We’re going away with the same group of friends we went away this past summer, but this time, without children.  I could hardly believe it! Keith and I haven’t gone on an adults only trip since way before Sasha was born.

Below are some great links including some great sales going on for Labor Day:

Noteworthy Sales:

Farmacy is having a 25% off site wide sale. My favorites include the Honeymoon Glow and the Honey Potion Mask. I also recently started trying the Honey Halo moisturizer and I love it! it’s currently sold out, but I’ll keep my eyes peeled for when it’s back in stock.

Another skincare favorite is Sunday Riley Good Genes and it’s currently on sale at Sephora.

Lulu & Georgia has up to 25% off everything!! We recently updated a few rugs in our home and after debating for months, we got the Afella for our living room, the Leila for our bedroom and this one for our entryway.

Mango has 30% off everything!! This includes the brown & black boots I just ordered. I also got these pants and this quilted jacket. Use code LAB20.

Elemis has 25% off some of their best products, including my holy grail cleansing balm. Use code LABORDAY.

Not a sale, but wow, the new CB2 collection is a good one! We actually ordered a new coffee table from CB2 and it’s been on backorder. I’m excited for it to arrive!

Some Other Good Reads:

I shared this on my stories yesterday, but a great article on how your friendships are changing.

A trick for making surgical masks fit better, especially on small kids.

How much worse will it get for NYC restaurants?

Last year, I wrote a review about my Chanel Flats & included a sizing guide, along with how I find most of my designer/investment shoes for over 50% off in this post here.

This fall, I really want to go on a road trip to see the leaves change. Maine has been on my bucket list of places to visit and thankfully, its open and doing well despite the pandemic! This travel guide to Kennebunkport, Bar Harbor & Camden has made the desire to visit this beautiful state much stronger.

A few new items that I got for fall.

11 Black-owned wellness brands you should definitely check out.

This spaghetti recipe looks so yummy!

The best pair of $30 jeans I own.

What they’re predicting for the future of travel after this pandemic.

Wishing you all a wonderful Labor Day Weekend!
