I met up with a few of my best friends for dinner the other night and I said to them “I’ve never purchased or worn this many sneakers in my entire life.”
2020 has definitely been the year of more comfortable clothing for everyone, including myself. While there are so many moments that I miss dressing up, I’ve been enjoying the slight shift that my style has taken over the last year, especially since becoming a mom of two. In my 20’s and even early 30’s, I cared more about my outfit looking a certain way, rather than being comfortable. These days, I love to find ways to incorporate my style, something I’d describe as a mix of ‘classic with a slight edge and a bit of glamour,’ into an outfit (mainly shoes) that I am more comfortable in.
It’s not to say that my heel wearing days are over. Absolutely not! Actually, the thought of that makes me shudder, but right now, I’ve been enjoying the slight change. If I do wear a pair of converse, I love mixing them with something dressier. My coat is vintage, but this one from Mango has a very similar look. The entire site is currently 30-40% off with the code ‘Extra40.’ I recently got a few long sleeved tees (wearing above) from there that have been in heavy rotation.
For the converse, I sized down one full size. I normally wear a 8.5 or a European 39.5 and a 7.5 fit perfectly.
